Mole Antonelliana
Built in the late 1800s, this icon
of Turin is a towering stone
structure with a classical
architectural style. It was
originally constructed for a
religious purpose, and later became
the house of the Museo del
Risorgimento. Today it is the site
of the new National Cinema Museum.

Risorgimento (National Museum of the
Risorgimento)
This palace was home to the first
king of a unified Italy and the seat
of its first parliament as well. The
beautiful baroque palace houses
thirty rooms with fascinating
displays of art and paraphernalia
which recount Italian history from
the early 18th century up to post
World War II period.
Basilica di Superga
This famous baroque basilica perches
on a hill overlooking the city. The
lively neoclassic porch and drum
dome contrasts sharply with the
somber atmosphere of the interior
which is a vast circular chamber
with six chapels. From the front
terrace, visitors can catch a
charming view of the Alps.
Cattedrale di San Giovanni
Battista
The Cathedral of St.John the Baptist
is where millions of faithfuls and
sceptics have made a journey to over
the centuries to get a glimpse of
the famous shroud of Turin, a piece
of cloth which features a miraculous
image of a man believed to be none
other than Jesus Christ. The chapel
that houses the shroud inspires awe
with its black marble façade, and
it represents one of the best
examples of Italian baroque
architecture.
Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace)
& Armeria Reale (Royal Armory)
This baroque palace was one of the
residences of the House of Savoy.
One wing is dedicated to the Royal
Armory which is an exhaustive
collection of the 16th-17th century
European weapons and armors. The
Giardini Reali or Royal Gardens at
the back of the palace also offers a
refreshing change of view from the
solemn elegance of the interior.
Museo Egizio
Turin houses the biggest collection
of ancient Egyptian artefacts in the
world outside Cairo. Founded by King
Carlo Felice in 1824, the museum
encompasses a dazzling array of
30,000 exhibits which run the gamut
from tombs and altars to bread and
soup taken to the afterlife.
GAM (Galleria Civica d'Arte
Moderna e Contemporanea)
Although the main exhibits of this
modern art museum are comprised of
works dating from the late 18th to
19th centuries, it is definitely
worth a visit for art aficionados.
The collections are largely arranged
chronologically, with rooms focusing
on specific movements or periods.
Some interesting works include
Giorgio de Chirico, Otto Dix, Paul
Klee, and Andy Warhol..
Parco del Valentino
The Valentino Park is situated along
the left bank of the River Po. In
the summer months the park is used
as a venue for different fairs such

while chilling out at one of the cafés
or bars along the river bank.
