Casa dei
Mazzanti
At the northeast of the Piazza delle
Erbe is the Casa dei Mazzanti whose
construction dates from the middle
ages. There are wonderful murals
representing the Allegories of
Ignorance, Greed, Love and
Moderation by Alberto Cavalli.
Garda Land
Verona is home to Garda Land, the
best and largest theme park in
Italy. There are many great rides
for both the humbles and the braves.
There are hundreds of other
attractions, live shows, restaurants
and gift shops.
La Fontana di
Madonna Verona
This Romanesque fountain in the
shape of a female figure is Verona's
oldest and best-known fountain in
the city. The Madonna holds a scroll
bearing the emblem of the city, and
the water sprouts from the base on
which are sculpted eight
masks.
Malcesine
Not far from the shores of
Lake Garda is Malcesine, one of the
most evocative and atmospheric towns
in the region. There are cobbled
streets leading to many beautiful
buildings and a lovely promenade
along the lake which show how nature
and architecture can live side by
side in perfec harmony.
Monumento a
Vittorio Emmanuele II
Italy's first king is Victorio
Emanuele II of Savoy or the
"gentleman", and Verona
has one of his equestrian statues in
the center of the gardens next to
the Arena. This monument was erected
to mourn for his death and thank him
for uniting the nation.
Piazza dei
Signori
This noble Piazza is the heart of
Verona, and surrounding the piazza
are fine historical buildings which
altogether accentuate the air of
importance as well as livelihood of
this area. The buildings are
connected via elegant 14th century
arches.
